MORE FROM THE BEACH!!!
The first photo was taken in front of the Blue Anchor restaurant in Boca Raton Florida. I was so intrigued by the history of the pub that I had to give it another look. Notice the writing on the right of my movie starlet "W Younger & Co'. That is the name of the original owner in London England. In addition to the history and great atmosphere the food is good.
The second and third photos were taken from the same section of beach but at different times of the day. The one of me is from the morning and notice I can climb out on the rocks on dry land. The photo of Nancy is from the afternoon and the tide is coming in thus water surrounds the same rocks. The older I get the more I marvel at the way God created his world.

Pictures four and five are also from different times of the day. Picture four is the afternoon and the tide is coming in and picture five is the out going tide.
I enjoy all of God's world but the beach is my favorite.

A WEEK AT THE BEACH!!!!!!!
Nancy and I had an opportunity to spend a week in Deerfield Beach Florida.
The majority of our time was at the beach However the first photo was taken across the street from our condo on our last afternoon in Florida. Because I am shooting up into the sky you lose real perspective as the building is actually thirteen stories high. I hope you can tell it is the Goodyear blimp as it is headed south toward Miami.


The second photo is the movie starlet that was with me on the trip. Am I lucky or what. This location is one block from our condo and you walk down to arrive at the beach.
The third photo is only of this old guy with his Cardinal 2006 play off t-shirt.
The movie starlet returns with a pose on the beach. This stretch of beach for several miles is very interesting as it feature many rocks that appear out of no where especially at low tide.

The last photo is of Nancy standing in front of the door to the Blue Anchor restaurant in Boca Ratan Florida. This restaurant was originally a pub in London England dating back to the 1880's. They claim that in the 20's Winston Churchill came through the doors many times to partake of pub food and drink. Sometime in the late 40's the restaurant was torn down in London and rebuilt in Boca. The restaurant was historical, atmospheric and the food was good.
Another restaurant I would recommend is Cap's place in Pompano beach Florida.

Cap's was intriguing as the only way in is by a motor launch on the inter coastal waterway. The atmosphere is great as it is constructed from the hull of an old whaling boat. The restaurant has been there since 1928. It is said that Al Capone, and Harry Truman frequented Cap's. We spent a Benjamin but the meal was our best ever sea food dinner.

A STAR IS BORN AT THE
EDWARD JONES DOME!!!!!!!!!!
A week before we left town our oldest granddaughter and her high school band performed in a band competion at the
Edward Jones Dome.
In the first photo we show maybe 40% of the actual band that was performing.
In the next three photos I used my cropping tool and zeroed in on my favorite band member.
Even thought they band did not win the competion grandma and I thought they were the BEST. Especially the play of our favorite band member.

MORE PHOTOS FROM FAMILY RETREAT AT CAMP NE O TEZ
I realize the retreat was about a month ago but the photos came in while we were in Florida.
The first photo features my adopted grandson BENNIE. I let his parents Gerri and Eric join in the photo but I didn't necessarily adopt them. { only kidding} I really am known as Bennie's St Louis grandpa.

In the second photo we have my friend Mike and his ever lovin Denise. If you know me very well you know I try hard to have younger friends.
In the third photo Denise makes a second appearance along with her friend Karen. If I ever need nursing care Karen is my personal choice. She took wonderful care of my friend Dean last spring.
The last two photos feature the evening entertainment Karaoke and songs performed by some of McKnight roads great young people. The one sitting in both photos has my hair style but also has some of my blood. He is my son Edward.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER
I realize that it was two weeks ago that Stevie and Jesse said their vows. But I was using a film camera and then we took off for seven wonderful days in Florida.
The first photo features Jesse and Stevie stating their vows.
The second photo is the first time they have been introduced as Mr. And Mrs. Haupt.
The third photo is a picture of their leaving the church and it features the very special touch of using sparklers to light the way.
The fourth photo is their entrance at the reception.
The last photo is of the toast given by David McCoy. Sorry I am so late.

HOW FORTUNATE CAN ONE PERSON BE?
Tuesday night I attended Worlds Series game number Ten. My series record is now eight wins and two losses. Maybe I should go tonight.
For me the big memory is I have seen these games in three different St Louis stadiums.
My first games were games six and seven of the 1964 Cardinals/Yankee series. The stadium was Sportmans Park and is shown in photo three. The sixth game I paid $6.00 for a bleacher ticket. The seventh game a business associate gave me a good seat near first base as Bob Gibson single handily pitched us to victory.

In 1967 I saw games number three and four in the Busch stadium that was then one year old. We drove up from Independence MO. For the Saturday and Sunday day games. We won both games from the Boston Red Sox. As you can see from photo two I still have the game program.
In 1982 I saw games one and seven. We lost the first but won the SEVENTH from the Miwaukee Brewers.
In 1987 I was with Centerre Bank and was able to attend all three series games. We were victorious in all three against the Minnesota Twins.
Tuesday night I saw the first series game ever played in our new Busch stadium as we defeated the Detroit Tigers.
My first ticket in 1964 cost $6.00 and Tuesday night ticket cost $25.00 less than my monthly salary that I made on our wedding day. Who says two can't live as cheap as one?

LIFE HAS MANY AMAZING TURNS
When I retired on December 31,1997 the only person I knew in this first photo was me. It is a long story on how we met but the quick version is we are cousins who became friends.
I met Carol first {sitting on the right} then her brother Louis standing next to me then last but not least I met Louise. We met through another cousin who happened to call me after about a sixty year wait. There is no denying that Louis and I are related as we share the same hair stylist. When you hear the four of us together you know we are all related.

Recently we all got together for a visit along with our spouses at the home of Louis and Billie. Some times even for me it is hard to get a word into the conversations going on every where in the room.
Pictured in photo two is Carol busily conversing with someone.
In photo three we feature Louis and Louise settling all of the problems in our world.
The last photo is of Jim he is married to Carol and simply this was the easy way of sending him a copy.

A FAMILY RETREAT FOR ALL AGES
On October 14th our church had a family retreat at Camp NE O TEZ with over seventy attending at different times. The ages ran from under two years old to sixty eight. Activities ranged from those that spent two nights to those that arrived at 4:00 PM. For Saturday night dinner. Teenagers played football,adults and kids hiked to inspiration point[an uphill hike} and some simply rested,visited, and tried to stay warm.
The weather was good but the fun and fellowship was terrific. Picture one is the Tritschler clan that made it to the top of inspiration point.

HOW SWEET IT IS!!!!!!!
Last night was the best television game of the Cardinals I have experienced. In the end I was standing and walking around the room. I was successful as a coach as I urged Wainwright to challenge Beltran as Bob Gibson would have done. It truly was a great seventh game.
The first photo is of the new stadium on a recent stadium tour and I simply happen to be in the picture.
The second photo was taken at an afternoon game with my young friend Eric {he is 40}. As we look toward center field from the second tier near home plate.
The third photo is of the statute of Stan Musial that stands in front of our new stadium near the main entrance.
The fourth photo is of our center fielder Jim Edmonds.
The last photo is also from the stadium tour featuring the score board.
So far I am two for two in the world of predictions.
If the Cardinals can win one of the first two they will win the series IN SIX GAMES>

AT Camp Ne O Tez
Saturday was a clear,cool and a wonderful family experience at
Camp Ne O Tez. All photos were taken by Brad Stevens.
The first photo features one of the two princesses in my life. Granddaughter kayleigh is taking in the entire camping experience. [She shares princess crown with her older cousin Kelsey]We are about half way into a hike and she found a way to take a break.
In the second photo is one of three Queens in my life youngest daughter Sherri. This photo was taken inside the pine lodge were we all gather together for food and indoor fun. Sherri shares her queen crown with older sister Terri and of course there is the queen mother Nancy. In addition daughter in-law KT has a title somewhere between princess and queen but at least it is not a shared title. [I am quite sure all this title stuff gets me into trouble]
The third photo features Vicki and my son Edward solving all the world and church problems. In the back ground is the photographers wife Sue.
In the last photo we have the old man of the family and he obviously does not handle uneven terrain very well.

INTERESTING OLD PHOTOS
At least for me
One of the things I do while watching the Cardinals on TV is look at some of my old photo albums.
Friday night during the commercials I found these old photos 1997 vintage of the train ride from Durango Co. To Silverton Co.
The interesting part is I am a passenger on this train as I take the pictures. Nancy and I chose to sit in the rear of the train and it turned out to be a great choice.
If you are ever in the Durango area I recommend this beautiful train ride.


I hope this second photo does not make my friend Eric home sick for his beloved mountains.
Cardinals need only TWO more victories!!!
