FINISHING WITH A FLOURISH



At our church I am known as three point Ed. In honor of my reputation I decided to do three events as my number SEVENTY!!!!

Believe it or not until tonight I managed to live plus seventy years without eating a Peanut Butter sandwich.

Witnessed by twenty five or more family and friends.

Adding jelly to my sandwich.

First bite tasted exactly about how I had perceived peanut butter tasted. About a three on a ten point scale.

Adding jelly moved the taste level to maybe a six.

Who knows someday I may eat my second peanut butter sandwich.

The book is started,we have a working title, and the first three chapters have been written. I am sharing with you the work in progress on the title, cover page, and the introduction. I had to include as without the quest for seventy there would be no book.

Remember March 19TH when I completed number fourteen by being elected to the Bayless School Board of Education. [seems like a long time ago]

This week I received my Missouri Schools Board Association certification by taking seventeen hours of credit over a four day conference at Tan Tara. I am now a certified school board member

It seems fitting that this is part of number SEVENTY!!!

RIDING A CAMEL WOW!!!!

Tonight was special as grandsons James,and Paul, joined me for a camel ride. You actually sit on the hump. It seems that over rugged terrain and for more than fifteen minutes it would hurt.

Believe me!!!! riding a camel was not on my original list but the whole year has been fluid and flexible.

What will number seventy be?

A- Tattoo [submitted by niece Jenny]

B- A visit to City museum [on the original list]

C- A peanut butter sandwich [Yes I have never!!! knowling eaten a peanut butter sandwich.

D-A peek at the book that I have started,[also not on original list]

E-Climb the rock wall at Dick's sporting goods. [submitted by friend Eric]

F-Something unexpected as that seems to have been a secondary theme for the year.

Unfortunately it will not be a helicopter ride. [ that was #70 on the original list] however the stock market decided to lose about 40%.!!!!

CHRISTMAS EVE TRADITION CONTINUES!!!!!

When our daughter Terri was born we decided we were staying home for Christmas. I grew up visiting all of the relatives and I honestly felt it was New Years day before I could play with my new toys. This year we again hosted the family gathering for Christmas Eve. [we have not missed since her birth] When we lived in Independence Mo. sometimes it was only four of us but we still celebrated Christmas Eve at our house. We also did Christmas day until Sherri took over a few years ago.




The festivities began right after dinner with a three piece piano recital by Donovan.[his piano lessons so far has been by grandma]

The evening ended at photo two as James shares his original Christmas story with the family helped by his ghost writer and reader Kayleigh.

Awaiting her next gift opening opportunity as our tradition is to move from youngest to oldest and back again until you run out. I got to stay in four rounds this year.



Words cannot do this picture justice but I will attempt too.

James is so excited over this gift from grandpa that he is kissing the box. That is not all in a moment he sits up and announces " I think I am going to cry" That announcement brought hysteria to our festivities.

Donovan actually was allowed to open a gift from his parents that was stored at our house.

A SPECIAL WORSHIP SERVICE

We had a special worship service at church yesterday that featured our "Kids of the Spirit" class singing and acting in a skit with a meaning.

Featured in the group is our grandson Donovan in white. In our service yesterday the Congregational singing was exceptional.!!!

#68 AN APPEARANCE ON THE VIC and TRISH SHOW ON KTRS 550.

Wow what an experience at 7:00 AM today as I was on the radio with Vic and Trish. It was very informal with no rehearsal. They started asking questions and I tried to answer them.

The segment lasted about twenty minutes and both Vic and Trish were interested and enthused.

Thanks again to Kathryn as I first met Vic last June at Fox 2 as we were both answering phones for contributions to flood victims.

Vic has offered to help me write a book about my adventures.

Today was simply a lot of fun.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA PART 2
