Possibly the St Louis relatives have not seen the first photo as Edward was born in Independence Mo
The second photo jumped off the album page and said please include me. Edward has always said he had three mothers as one of the three Tritschler girls was there to pick him up.



The third photo is a Christmas present from my Uncle Bob. My memory of that night is Uncle Bob bought every hockey piece of equipment except skates.
Photo four begs for the answer to this question. Where has the hair gone?!!!!!!!!
Photo five was taken in Jefferson City Mo at the high school cross country state championship. The birthday boy is number 174. I believe this is his junior year and he still owns the school record in the cross country event.

ST LOUIS ZOO MARCH 2007
A beautiful day at the zoo last week was enjoyed by all.
In the first photo from the left is Donovan,Jake[Paul's friend] Kayleigh, Paul, and James.
The second photo features James [he does not like to have his picture taken] but our youngest princess makes this a great photo.
Third photo is of grandson Paul in the stripes with his friend Jake.
In the fourth photo I either caught James by surprise or he liked the snake. The fifth photo is Donovan and Kayleigh. The last photo features one of the two patriarch's of our family.
It was a beautiful day.

THE REAL MARCH MADNESS!!!
Donovan our nine year old grandson recently played in a local basketball tournament. The tournament announced each player and had them run through fog as part of the opening festivities.
In photo one you can see him running through the fog.

Photo two is at the completion of his introduction. Photo three is of the team after their introduction.
Photos four and five are of Donovan shooting during practice.
Yes!!!!! March madness begins at age nine.

SOARING WITH THE EAGLES!!!

Recently I toured the Pierre Marquette area with a group from our church and sighted at least twenty are more eagles. This is our second year in a row to take the tour. The trip is certainly worth the effort and the cold temperatures.

The last two pictures is a flock snow geese congregating on the Mississippi. There must be at least five hundred. They perch on the water until noises cause them to take flight. It is a wonder full sight.

HOW LUCKY CAN ONE COLLEGE BASKETBALL JUNKIE BE?
I have had the good fortune to have been in attendance at six NCAA tournament basketball games including two finals. My first final was in 1973 when I saw hall of fame coach John Wooden and his UCLA team win again. Bill Walton had a big game as he scored 44 points to help UCLA defeat Memphis state.
In 1978 I again was able to see a final game when Kentucky and coach Joe B. Hall won the NCAA championship game. The program price doubled in the five years and my guess is the ticket price more than doubled. I still have my 1973 stub and it cost $10.00.
The remaining four dates were Midwest championship dates. The neat thing is each date was two games for the price of one. A little taste of what inflation has done to us. The ticket price to the 1998 game was $45.00 and it was not even the finals.
In 1999 the program was up to $7.00 and again it was only the regional not the finals.
It may only be televison but I am enjoying March madness as i publish this blog!!!!!!!

SPRING TRAINING IN FLORIDA
The first eight years of my retirement we were in Florida with the Cardinals. It feels allmost like home sickness to miss spring training baseball for the second year in a row.

FAMOUS ST LOUIS ARTIST
CELEBRATES SEVENTY CANDLES
Our friend of over fifty years Rich celebrates blowing out seventy candles. Actually Nancy and I knew Ruth
even before we met Rich. Nancy went to high school with Ruth and I worked with her at Davis Photo Supplies.
Both Nancy and I give Ruth a little credit in our meeting, dating and ultimatly marrying.
If you have any pin and ink drawings of famous St Louis landmarks there is a good chance Rich is the artist.
Featured in the second photo is my friend Bob [we have been friends since freshmen in high school] and of course the birthday boy. Somehow the three of us and our wives became friends of long standing.
In the third photo is Bob's wife Peggy, Nancy and of course Bob and I. I met Peggy in high school as her and Bob were high school sweethearts even thought they attended different high schools.but I did not meet Nancy till I was in college.
The fourth photo will definitely get me in trouble with one or more of the subjects.
The fourth photo was taken about 1958 at Fort Leonard Wood Mo. When the four of us were visiting Fred another friend at the time.
Friendships of long standing are very important.

KAYLEIGH CELEBRATES NUMBER SIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On super bowl bowl Sunday we celebrated with a super birthday party for the youngest princess in our family.
It seems like only yesterday that every Thursday was my day to take care of Kayleigh.
My only memory of my sixth birthday was my last spanking from my mother. My Aunt Helen protected me and received more of the punishent than I.

CELEBRATING WITH LOUIS
The first photo is of Louis and his life long friend Don. Thought they did have about a fifty year break in their friendship. The short version is that after World War Two somehow Louis thought Don had died. Fast forward to about 2003 or 04 and I get a message on my recorder from Don looking for information on a Louis. If Louis and I had not found each other I would have simply ignored the message. I believe there is only about two weeks difference in their ages.
