FAMILY WEEKEND AT

CAMP NE O TEZ

This week end our church had a get together in the great out doors at Camp Ne O Tez near Washington State Park.

In photo one I am surrounded by friends who happen to be husband and wife Kathryn on left and John on the right.

If you are wondering why Nancy is missing it is because she is at a grade school reunion. The grade school she attended held a reunion for all graduates of forty years and longer. She qualified.

In the second photo we have from the left John, John, and Jonathas, way too many Johns.

In the third photo we have Dave and Cathy on the left. [Dave may be as big a Cardinal fan as I am.} Next to Cathy is John and then another David.

Graham and his good friend

I
In the fifth photo I know it is me but I wanted to feature the red barn way off in the background.

All photos taken from Inspiration Point a hike up of about one half mile.

Grandson Paul and his dad.

The 2007 CFS ANNUAL DINNER

The evening was marketed as both a serious evening and a night of fun.

Mike Runcie started the evening off with both a CFS STATE oF the UNION talk and a FAREWELL address. Mike and his wife will be moving to Nashville to join their children and enjoy their grandchildren.

The second photo introduces CFS new executive director Steve Awtry as he accepts the challenge of leading CFS into a new era.
The fun begins in the third photo as Eric is the master of ceremonies for the new game show THIS IS YOUR LIFE MIKE.

A little history lesson for those who attend McKnight Rd. In order for us to afford to hire a youth minister in the early eighties. We had to sell a neighboring house that we owned in order to have enough funds to pay salaries for a three year period of time until our church building would be paid in full.. Mike was the youth minister we hired.

The phantom appears to say so long Mike

Sonny and Cher stop by to say ALOHA to Mike

The entire cast sing a special rendition of "Thanks For The Memories.

Epilogue!!!!

Recently the church bought back the house we sold for over twice our sale price. The bottom line is Mike was worth the investment.

JOYS OF GRAND PARENTING
Today Nancy and I attended grandparents day in the fourth grade.
We had the opportunity to share with Donovan's class what fourth grade for us was like.
In addition the class sang for us and as the first photo indicates each student talked about what their grandparents meant to them.
A good two hours was had by all.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELSEY!!!!

Sixteen is one of those special birthdays of life.

I had to show the second photo taken about twenty five hours after your birth. It seems like only yesterday.

1991 Was a palindrome year meaning that it is the same number written frontwards or backwards.

In 1991 the soviet Union as a communist nation decided to change toward democracy and broke up as Communist power threat to the free world.

The 1991 academy award winner was Dances With Wolves.

The 1991 best song winner was From A Distance.

I have little memory of my sixteenth birthday in 1954 other than my parents did let me skip school to take the drivers license test and then on Sunday they let me take a 1952 Buick for a ride with my best friend Jack.

In 1954 the first world series was televised in color for the first time.

The academy award winner was Frank Sinatra in From Here To Eternity.
The top song was Bill Haley and the Comets playing Shake Rattle and Roll. Four years later when grandma and I were dating we danced to Bill Haley in person at the Casa Loma ballroom.
Picture one. three, four, and five were taken last Sunday at our family celebration.

I hope you have a great birthday and many many more future celebrations.

Grandma and I are very proud of you.

I had to show a picture of the fun times at the park
