WILD HORSES of THE OUTER BANKS IN N.C.

Last Tuesday night we took a Wild Horse Adventure Tour at sunset. Our expectation and visualization was that we would see the horses running down the beach. In reality you see wild horses but they are grazing in front of million dollar homes on a desolate beach. The only way into this area is by four wheel drive. You drive along the beach about 1/2 of mile from the last paved road of Corolla N.C. When suddenly you come upon multi million dollar homes with lots of sand for their landscape.

WONDER WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE LIVING WITH NO PAVED ROADS,SAND AND WATER EVERYWHERE, NO STREET LIGHTS,AND THE ONLY WAY IN OR OUT IS BY DRIVING A FOUR WHEELER .

At sunset we climbed a sixty foot sand dune and viewed our first ever sunset from a high sand dune instead of a beach. In this photo I am facing west toward the Currituck Sound and the photographer {Nancy} is facing east toward the Atlantic ocean. With million dollar homes all around. The sight is simply surreal.

We are on top of the dune facing the Atlantic ocean with the sun and Currituck Sound at our backs.

Facing the Atlantic with million dollar desolate beach homes every where. If you look real close you will see our jeep parked below the sand dune.

Facing west toward the Currituck Sound. If you look close you can see the water and across the water is the mainland of North Carolina.

Facing the Currituck Sound.

For us it was the most unique sunset we ever witnessed.

It was a beautiful ending to another great day to be alive.
