MY PERSONAL TOP SEVEN EVENTS OF 2006

It was very hard to choose my personal top seven events of 06 as this was an exciting year for Nancy and I. The choices are listed in chronological order not numerical order.
The first photo represents a week at the beach at Boca Ratan Florida in November. Anytime we can walk the beach we are in earthly heaven.

A fall day in October participating in family day at Camp Ne O Tez
It was simply a good day of fun, recreation, and fellowship.

Riding The fire truck in AFFTON DAY PARADE SEPTEMBER

A great summer day at the Stone ranch with family and friends.

Kelsey at her grade school graduation.

Focus on the red stadium chairs as they represent
A- The old stadium
B- The new stadium
C- I attended my tenth world series game. This was the second time I saw a first world series game ever played at a new stadium. Game three in 1967 and 2006 were each played in a new St Louis stadium.
D- Who knows what the future might hold for me and my life time association with the Cardinals.

Bob Petit of the old St Louis Hawks posing with yours truly. Thanks to Steve Haupt I was able to attend a reunion of the St Louis Hawks at the MO Athletic Club. Steve knew someone who was a member of the club. This year went too fast but IT WAS A GOOD YEAR!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

MORE CHRISTMAS PAST!!!!!!
The first photo is from Christmas 1991 and I am holding my oldest grandson Todd. It is still hard for me to remember that at one time in my life I had some hair and wore glasses.
The second photo is from 1983 and is of my grandfather. He died within about ninety days of this picture and thirty days before he would have reached his 97th birthday.
I hope that my family and friends have enjoyed the photos from the past. I have certainly enjoyed going through lots of old photos to find the right ones.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!!!

TERRI CHRISTMAS 1969

MORE CHRISTMAS PAST!!!!!!!
Believe it or not this is Christmas day 1966 in independence MO. I wore a t-shirt and obviously Nancy is wearing only a sweater while playing with sherri's dog Tinker. The temperature was in the 70's and the very next day the state patrol would not let us drive on I-70 due to the huge snowfall. We wanted to take my mother to the bus station in Kansas City for her return home to St Louis but could not enter I-70.
The next photo is Sherri by HERSELF in 1964. I always hear there are no photos of her without her older sister's arm around her. This is proof positive there is at least one photo with her alone.
The third photo is Terri's first Christmas in 1961 and first visit with Santa Claus.
The fourth photo is also from 1961 and of course it features Aunt Annie along with Terri.

The fourth photo is Christmas card 1963 and is the first card featuring both girls. The fifth photo is Christmas card 1964. I guess by the time Edward came along we were out of the photo card business.
Last but not least is Christmas 1964 and features Aunt Annie and her baby brother Uncle Jimmie.
HO Ho !!! There still might be more from Christmas past.

I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TO SHARE SOME
CHRISTMAS TIMES FROM THE PAST
The first photo is from Christmas time 1958 when Nancy and I were still single!!
It was taken at my mothers house through a large mirror that was over an old fire place. [ note the Christmas decorations on the mantle]
The second photo is from 1964 long before there were light displays like Grants Farm.
This photo was taken in downtown St Louis in a park across from the library that had displays each year about St Louis past at Christmas time.
The third and fourth photos are of two special little girls playing with their gifts.
The last photo is from 1969 and the first Christmas our family had expanded to three.
Stay tuned as I have this feeling there may be a part two and maybe even a part three coming.
HO HO HO !!!!!

YAHOOTS in ACTION!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yahoots is the name of a group of young seniors from the McKnight Road Church of Christ. Recently we had a Thanksgiving luncheon in our new multi purpose room. {gymnasium} The attached photos not only show the eating but those who so diligently did the labor to allow the luncheon to be a huge success. This Sunday evening we will be celebrating our second annual Christmas party and everyone is invited to attend and enjoy the singing, food, and fellowship.

FAMILY FUN AT THANKSGIVING
I realize it has been two weeks since Thanksgiving but I still use an SLR 35 mm camera. Sometimes I am convinced Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It is a slower pace and the kids can use their imagination as they play.
Today's photos feature our younger grandkids at play as the older grandchildren were out of town. I try hard to take my photos when they are not aware that I am taking their picture.

MY NEIGHBOR MY FRIEND
In September my blog featured a story on the Affton Day parade and the happy time my family and I had in riding on this fire truck,
On Saturday November 25th the fire truck was running but my friend

Tim was not the driver. Tim was simply the best neighbor Nancy and I have had in over 47 years. Tim always was looking for ways to help us take care of our house and to be our friend.
Tim woke up Wednesday morning like any other work day. He was putting on his socks when he fell to the floor. By the time Val got to him he was probably already gone.
Tim we already miss you.

A DAY AT KINDERGARTEN
Recently grandma and I had the opportunity to spend a morning at kindergarten with Paul. We helped make a craft that you can see in photos two and three.
In addition we were there for story hour and grandma even sat on the floor with Paul and his friends. I thought it was safer if I sat nearby in a chair.
It was an hour of fun and enjoyed by all.
