A BOAT RIDE ON REEFLFOOT LAKE TN
After plus fifty two years of traveling to Reelfoot lake we finally experience the lake from the water instead of the shoreline. In February 2011 Nancy and I discovered not only the eagle migration to Reelfoot Lake but also they offer a two hour pontoon boat ride of the lake. It was even more beautiful from the water than the shoreline. I visited Reelfoot in the summer of 1958 for my first time and average close to a visit at least once a year. Our plans for 2012 include hopefully another eagle winter visit and another September McCoy family reunion. Bill, if you have not taken the boat tour you need to plan to do in 2012. We would be glad to meet you and tour the lake again. It was that good.!!!
More than half way to the other side of the lake.
Our first good view from the water.
See the beautiful white bird in the background
Saw grass and it is reflected in the water.
Got lucky and caught the bird in flight!!!.
Water, trees and birds WOW!!!
In Flight with the reflection in the water
Good think i was shooting digital not film.
A duck blind as Saturday was the first day of shooting the Wood Duck.
I never noticed the reflections in the water when I was shooting the picture.
Birds lined up like fence posts.
Lucky again with the flight of the bird.
The entrance to a man made ditch similar to a canal. This one is about a mile long. Today water level was to low for us to go through the ditch/canal.
On our way back to the state park starting point.
