A little touch of holidays of old in downtown St Louis
We started our journey on the Metrolink from Shrewsbury instead of a streetcar from south city. We visited Macy's one decorated window instead of multiple decorated windows of Famous Barr of old times. [we remember when every window of Famous was decorated plus windows at Stix Baer & Fuller and Scruggs Vanderburt & Barney] There is two names from the past for you to think about.
Photo two is not one of my best but it is taken through two corner windows to try and show the multiple trains that are running. [Macy's only decorated window] Our memory is you had to fight huge crowds in order to work your way to the front yet today we walked right up to the window.The next four photos are two grandkids playing at a special display in the St Louis downtown public library.[first time in the downtown library in over 55 years]
The grandkids enjoyed the trip especially riding on Metrolink and the grandparents enjoyed the memories of holiday downtown visits with their grandparents. [I could still taste the fried chicken from the Forum cafeteria]

The public library is really a this year event in an effort to get people to visit the downtown library. I should have made that clearer. Sorry,Ed
