A CHIP OFF THE OLD OLD BLOCK

I began my baseball career at twelve as a catcher in the George Khoury leagues. I ended my career at age thirty as a catcher in a fast pitch church softball league in Independence Missouri.

Last night I witnessed my grandson Paul play as a catcher for his baseball team.

" What goes around comes around"

It was a great expierence to rewind a portion of your life.

A ST LOUIS METRO TREASURE

ONE MILE FROM 141/44 INTERSECTION

On Friday morning Nancy and I took our youngest grandson to Lone Elk Park. Located no more than one mile from 141/44 interchange. On a cool morning from about 9:30 to 12:30 we explored the park and we doubt there was more than six other cars in the park.

People drive thousands of mile to see what we saw about six miles from our house. In addition to Elk and Bison there is also a Wild Bird Sanctuary located in the park that is worth exploring. No pictures as my camera ran out of juice.

McCOY FAMILY REUNION

Continued on Sunday

The first photo is of Reelfoot Lake that was created by an earth quake in the 1800's that actually diverted part of the Mississippi river.

On Sunday morning the family gathered for a worship service a few feet from the shore of Reelfoot lake. {photo two}

Photo three features our song leader and the preacher is seated waiting his turn to lead us in a Bible study.

Photo four features Uncle Ray {oldest living member of twelve children born to Will and Mary McCoy with his family that was in attendance.

Photo five features his sister Grace with her husband Hart.

Photo six features his sister Betty and her husband Jesse.

Ray, Grace, and Betty are the living children of Nancy's grandparents ,Will and Mary McCoy.

Betty of course is Nancy,s aunt but is only a year older than Nancy. Betty had a sister Bobbie that was one year younger than Nancy.

The family concluded their reunion with a meal together at the Blue Bank restaurant. No pictures as I was too busy eating my catfish dinner.

2007 McCOY FAMILY REUNION

TIPTONVILLE TENNESSE

We started Saturday by driving from St. Louis to Ridgely TN. In the first photo we feature the house that Nancy's dad built in Ridgely TN. sometime after WWII and before 1949. {photo one}

Saturday evening the families gathered in Tiptonville TN

with Reelfoot Lake at the front door.

We were surprised!!!!! when some back up singers arrived as special entertainment to begin our evening together. {photo two}

The biggest surprise of my life was when suddenly from some where the KING!!!! arrived to perform and lead the family in a sing along of his greatest hits. {Photo three}

In addition the KING really came to help Jesse and Betty to renew their vows after celebrating fifty years of marriage. [photo four]

The KING helped Jesse sing a love song to his blushing bride of fifty years. [photo five]

The KING ended his part by introducing the bride and groom of fifty years. Congratulations to Jesse and Betty for fifty years of marriage!!!!!!!!!!!!!. [photo six]

The evening was not over as suddenly the BIG BOTTOM SISTERS arrived for more hilarious entertainment. [photo seven]

The evening concluded by honoring the oldest family member Uncle Ray on his eighty first birthday. {photo eight}

I REPEAT

The Best Things in life are free!!!!

When I pulled in my drive way after witnessing the tremendous

victory of our Cardinals over the Pirates. I was greeted by two rainbows in the sky. If you look real close you will see the second rainbow on the right side of photos.

It seems like a long time since I saw a rainbow much less a double rainbow.

GO CARDINALS!!!!!!!!!

A LITTLE BIT OF VARIETY
Friday was a beautiful day weather wise in St Louis. I stopped on my way home from a volunteer job I do every Friday since March of 1998. I do a one hour sports program for Minds Eye a radio station broadcasting for the blind 24/7.
The station is located in Belliville Il. and I took the sky line of St Louis from East St Louis.

Thursday was also a beautiful weather day in St Louis and Nancy and I decided to enjoy lunch at a new restaurant in West port
Pujols 5.
In honor of Rick Ankiel's grand slam home run Friday night I had to show photo three of Rick at bat. This game was last week but it too was a come from behind victory.
The last photo is grandson Paul playing at a park near his home. I wanted to show my friend Brad I have a few photos of my six grandkids. [only kidding Brad]

SUNDAY AT THE BALL GAME
I saw a great game on Sunday as the Cardinals defeated the Braves to get within one game of a 500 record.
The first picture is of So. Taguchi as he most likely is playing his last year with the Cardinals and is Nancy's favorite Cardinal.
No predictions till we are at 500.

GREAT GAME/EXTRA BONUS
Nancy and I were at the game Tuesday night when the Cardinals came from behind in the eight to win the game.
Before the game we received an extra bonus as we had our picture taken with the world series trophy.
In addition it was the best played game I have been too since game three of the 2006 series.

HEY WORLD!!!!!
SEE WHAT I CAN DO******
Featured today is our youngest grandson doing a head stand with no gymnastic lessons.
I would like to say he got this ability from his grandpa but then
I would be telling a lie.
I would say quite a trick for a four year old.
